BRIXTON PU2.1 SNA SERVER

The Brixton SNA product family provides flexible solutions for companies that have significant investment in mainframe and AS/400 applications and devices, and need to access these in newer LAN and WAN environments.

Product Overview

The Brixton PU2.1 SNA Server provides high performance access from a TCP/IP environment to data and applications residing on mainframe and AS/400 systems. The Brixton server runs on an open systems (UNIX) server and is designed to take advantage of a distributed environment.

The Brixton PU2.1 SNA Server provides gateway functionality between TCP/IP and SNA networks. The Server is architected so that its processes can be distributed across more than one server to increase performance and availability. It frees up mainframe cycles by offloading TCP/IP and telnet processing.

The Brixton PU2.1 SNA Server supports 3287 printing so that mainframe printing can be distributed to LAN attached printers. The SNA Server also supports LU types 1, 2, 3, 6.2 and 0.

A Graphical Management Interface is provided so that regardless of configuration the PU2.1 SNA Server and attached resources are managed as one entity.

Optional development tools are available to develop a custom management interface or convert open systems events to SNA alerts which can be transmitted to NetView.
